Wrexham has been taking part in Food and Fun for 9 years and this year there was a bumper crop of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Children from seven schools were offered 360 spaces each day for 12 days, enjoying 4,300 meals and learning at 42 nutrition sessions.

Pupils could take part in a huge range of activities, which included laser tag, creepy crawly shows, silent discos (and not so silent discos), arts and crafts, bushcraft, street dance, magic shows, daily mile, rugby, tennis and much more.

Activities were also provided and supported by Active Wrexham, NW police, CADW, Table Tennis Wales, Welsh Rugby and Groundworks.

Cllr Phil Wynn, lead member for education, said: “Another year and another great success for the Food and Fun project, giving Wrexham children the chance to learn all about the ways that food impacts health while also getting out and enjoying activities that they may not otherwise have done.

“Thanks goes out to Welsh Government for funding this project and I would like to extended a huge thank you to each school’s amazing and dedicated staff who make this possible each year, as well as Wrexham Council’s catering team, Betsi Cadwalader Dietetic team, all of the activity providers for making Food and Fun 2025 a huge success.”
