Charity military tattoo event to be held in Wrexham

On October 2nd at 7.30pm a charity concert raising funds for The Not Forgotten Association will be held at Coleg Cambria’s newly extended and refurbished Yale site.

The Not Forgotten Association combats isolation and loneliness amongst the Armed Forces community.

The British International Tattoo- in concert – a Slice of The British Isles event will see a cast and crew of over 100 put on a show that celebrates the diversity of British and international cultures.

Rhos Male voice choir will performing as well as the Band and Drums of the Cheshire Constabulary, the British International Tattoo Pipes and Drums accompanied by Highland dancer Claire Harvey and the Emma May School of Irish Dance.

Traditional English morris dancing will be provided by The Mersey Morris Men.

The overseas element of the concert will be represented by China Spirit, performing a colourful and lively Chinese lion dance.

Wrexham Council armed forces champion Cllr David Griffiths said: “We have a proud history of supporting the military here in Wrexham, so it’s great to see the Yale venue at Coleg Cambria chosen to host the military tattoo event.

“We hope that this will become an annual event which would be great for Wrexham.

“Next year Wrexham will be hosting armed forces day, when we will once again celebrate and pay tribute to armed forces personnel and their families.”
