On October 12, 10am-3pm, the Wellbeing Hub in Crown Buildings will be hosting a dementia care event and listening campaign, where you can come along and access support from professionals.

More than 18 organisations will be there including Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, North Wales Police, unpaid carers support, and the Altzheimers Society.

The organisations will have stands from 10am-12.30pm and then at 1pm there will be a sit down presentation talk from the following:

  1. North Wales Police
  2. North Wales Fire and Rescue Service
  3. RITA (My improvement network)
  4. Ticky Lowe Reminiscence
  5. Pat and Rosemarie – Memories Group – Happy Hedgehog
  6. Wales Museums – Gareth
  7. Bangor University Dementia Centre – Dr Jennifer
  8. Wrexham Citizens Advice Bureau
  9. Occupational Therapist (BCUHB)
  10. Memory Clinic (BCUHB)

Cllr John Pritchard, lead member for adult social care, said: “For those living with dementia, and their families, the time after diagnosis can feel very lonely and isolating. This event on October 12 aims to let everyone know that there is a huge amount of information and, more importantly, support available and you don’t have to go through this alone.”

The event is free, but if you would like to come along please let us know by booking a ticket on Eventbrite.

This event also forms part of a week of celebration on the first anniversary of the opening of the Wellbeing Hub. You can find out more about the Wellbeing Hub in this blog article.
