We know that the risk, and fear, of falling as we get older is something that can have a significant effect on our health and wellbeing.

But it isn’t just older people, there are a number of health conditions that, at any age, can mean the risk of falling increases.

On Thursday, September 18, 10am-12pm, the Wellbeing Hub in Wrexham and BCUHB will be hosting a falls prevention event alongside other organisations including Vision Support, the Carers Trust, Age Connects and Care and Repair North East Wales.

Cllr John Pritchard, lead member for adult social care, said: “In Wales and England combined, it is estimated that between 230,000 and 460,000 people over the age of 60 fall each year and this event aims to give you the information needed to reduce the risk.

“I would recommend anyone, of any age, who is concerned about themselves or a loved one falling and the impact that it may have on their health should come along to this event. There will be plenty of advice available as well as demonstrations of mobility scooters and RITA devices (used to support those living with dementia).”
