Fans of historical thrillers and crime novels are in for a treat this month as local author, David Edsworth, brings his “Murder & Mayhem” performance to Ruabon library.
This free event is a unique chance to meet the prolific author as he shares the true stories that inspired his fictional novels.
The man behind the mysteries
David Ebsworth is the pen name for author, David McCall. David was born and raised in Liverpool, but he has called Wrexham his home since 1981.
David lives locally with his wife, Ann, who is described as his “ideal reader” and main mentor.
He has been writing since 2009 and keeps to a very strict routine of writing daily. You may often find David in full creative flow in one of Wrexham’s independent cafes.
Among his many accolades, David is a member of the Historical Novel Society, the International Brigades Memorial Trust, the Anglo-Zulu War Historical Society, New Writers UK, and the Alliance of Independent Authors.
Stranger than fiction
Up to date, David has penned fourteen historical thrillers and crime novels among his impressive back catalogue.
Inspiration comes from true historical stories and events. They lay the foundations for his fictional world. It provides the backdrop for new and interesting ways to kill off some of the characters in his fictional world.
