From next week, Plas Madoc recycling centre will be undergoing some extensive engineering works to upgrade the site. We expect these works to take around seven weeks to complete.

We’re pleased to let you know that Wrexham residents will still be able to visit the facility during this time, but to help keep everyone safe we’ve introduced a temporary booking system which requires you to pre-book your next visit.

How to book your next visit

You can book your next visit easily by completing the online form on our website at the following link – www.wrexham.gov.uk/PlasMadocBookings

Cllr Terry Evans, Lead Member for Environment, said: “Whilst the work is taking place – in order to keep access safe and smooth – you will need to book a time slot to visit Plas Madoc recycling centre.

“When you arrive, please show our staff your booking confirmation email on your smartphone. Residents who don’t have a smartphone can bring a print out of your confirmation instead, but please try to avoid this if possible.”

Some important things to note:

  • Unfortunately the site will be unable to take tyres, soil or rubble during this period (however, you can take these to our other recycling centres at Bryn Lane and Brymbo)
  • Residents will still need to provide proof that they live in the county borough (such as a utility bill with their address on it)
  • It will still be possible to collect pre-ordered recycling containers, compostable liners and blue sacks
  • The latest time slot you can book is 15 minutes before closing time
  • Denbighshire residents will temporarily not be able to use the site, but can use Bryn Lane recycling centre instead

Need help to book?

Any residents who would like some support to book their time slot can visit Contact Wrexham based in Wrexham Library, or call 01978 298989 and our staff will be able to help you through the process.

Opening hours reminder

As always, in September, Plas Madoc and Brymbo (The Lodge) recycling centres will close earlier at 6pm.

Bryn Lane recycling centre doesn’t change its operating times and closes at 8pm throughout the year.

You can get full details of our recycling centre operating times on our website.
