Don’t forget – parking enforcement is taking place so please park responsibly

As the town centre businesses re-open and more people are now visiting the area we’re reminding drivers that parking enforcement is taking place.

You can still park for free in all council owned town centre car parks but please park in car parks and observe the maximum stay time limits so that there is a availability of spaces in short stay car parks as visitors come to town to support the town centre economy. Also ensure that you are observing the maximum time allowed to stay in the free limited waiting bays that are dotted about the town centre.

No matter how mild your symptoms are, you should get a test for Coronavirus

Parking Enforcement Officers will be out and about monitoring this and will be issuing fines for anyone abusing the time limits in the short stay car parks and limited waiting bays.

They’ll also continue to issue fines for anyone not parked in a legitimate parking space such as on double yellow lines, disabled bays without a blue badge and parking in pedestrianised areas at the wrong times or on pavements. So to avoid a fine please park responsibly.

Car parks that are free until the end of September are:

  • Crescent Road
  • Guildhall
  • Library
  • Market Street
  • Tŷ Pawb

You can also take advantage of the 30 minute Click and Collect free parking bays on the High Street if you’re popping into one of the markets to pick up pre-ordered goods.

You can read more about this here:
