Energy Saving Bulletin 2: Air-drying clothes instead of using the tumble dryer.
SHARE

Following on from last week, we will be looking in more detail at the effects of Air-drying clothes instead of using the tumble dryer. Electric dryers are “energy gobblers.” They use around 1,800 to 5,000 watts of electricity every cycle. As a result, avoiding using a tumble dryer and drying your clothes on racks inside where possible or outside in warmer weather can save you £50 every year. As well as the environmental benefits of air-drying your clothes, there are also many benefits for the clothes themselves. For example, clothes endure longer without the wear of the tumble dryer. Air drying also helps to avoid the risk of shrinking or heat-harming your clothes, and fresh air helps your laundry smell fresh and organically clean.
