Our Household Recycling Centres will close at 4pm tomorrow and we’re asking everyone to hang onto their excess waste until they re-open on 9 November.

We’re still having fly-tipping reported to us and it’s not just household waste but also what seems to be builder’s waste.

Protect the people you love. Download the Covid-19 NHS app.

I pay for someone to remove my rubbish

If you pay someone to remove large amounts of your rubbish please ensure that you use a reputable company to do it on your behalf. The company can’t dispose of the items at our household recycling centres but must dispose of it at a private licensed facility.

Please ask for proof that they are able to do this. If you are paying for someone to take your rubbish please make sure they’re legit. They should have a Waste Carrier’s Licence if not – don’t use them as they’re very likely to fly tip it and you’ll be responsible and liable to prosecution of they’re caught or if it can be traced back to you.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “There’s simply no excuse for fly-tipping and dumping rubbish irresponsibly. We’re just asking everyone to hold onto their excess waste until our Household Recycling Centres are open again.

“There has been several shocking instances of fly-tipping on social media and it costs us to remove it. We always to check if there is anything in the rubbish to identify the owner and if so we will not hesitate to prosecute and fine those who blight our communities, its sheer lazy.
