A record year for community eventsWhat’s on at Tŷ PawbFridaySaturday

The events are part of this year’s WREXFEST – a multicultural, intergenerational urban festival held in several venues across the city centre featuring over 100 acts from all over the world as well as free children’s activities and workshops.

A record year for community events

Festival organiser Brendan Griffiths said: “Tŷ Pawb is an amazing venue and an essential community hub and an event like WREXFEST demonstrates it’s importance in our community.

“We have five huge international artists headlining: Dub Pistols, Alabama 3, DJ Format, Bollywood Brass Band, Akram Abdulfattah and we made the decision to make two of those free matinee events at Tŷ Pawb to send the message that WREXFEST really is for everyone.

“The support we’ve had from other venues has been amazing; everyone from The Rockin’ Chair to Wrexham Markets has jumped on board; we’ve had a record year for community events and Wrexham is rapidly earning its place as a flagship true city of culture”.

“Many thanks to Arts Council Wales, Tŷ Cerdd, Race Council Cymru, Wrexham County Borough Council and the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund for supporting this event.”

Lead Member with responsibility for Tŷ Pawb, Cllr Hugh Jones, said: “This year’s WREXFEST will be a fantastic opportunity to see Wrexham and Tŷ Pawb at their very best. Communities coming together for a celebration of music and performance from all over the world that will entertain all ages. I’m sure, as with previous years, the atmosphere inside Tŷ Pawb this weekend will be something very special indeed.

“As well as the festival, the gallery, markets and food court will be open as usual, making it a great day out for everyone, all under one roof.”
