It’s a new year, which means many of us will be thinking about our new year’s resolutions…

Always one of the most popular resolutions is to be a bit healthier and get more active.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to start pumping iron like Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime 😉

A great way to start easing back into the swing of things is walking.

So dust off those walking boots, grab your hats and scarves and get exploring.

How about one of our great country parks? If you need a little bit of inspiration, here’s a selection of some of our favourites.

Bellevue Park

What’s not to love? It’s close to the town centre, has wonderful scenery and is generally a great place to visit.

So if you want to start off with a not-too-strenuous stroll, this might be just the ticket.

Alyn Waters

Alyn Waters is always a good choice.

There’s a variety of woodland, grassland or riverside walks for you to choose from.

Tŷ Mawr Country Park is a lovely place to visit.

Whether you want long walks, short walks, great views or farmyard animals – this park has it all covered!

If you want to learn about the history of the Clywedog Valley, spend time with your family amongst splendid views or have a ramble through the woodlands – Nant Mill caters for all.

It’s been called a hidden gem, and has magnificent views over Chirk towards the Berwyn hills and Shropshire.
