Residents can now renew their garden waste subscription to cover the period April 1, 2026 until March 31, 2027 by visiting our garden waste page.
The quickest way to pay for the service is by making an online payment. You can easily make your payment at a time that suits you by following the simple steps in our online form. Just make sure you’re signed up in plenty of time to avoid missing any collections when the service begins in April.
The charge for 2026/27 has been held at £35 per green bin per year, and the service runs from Wednesday April 1, 2026, until Wednesday March 31, 2027. We will continue to review the service in the future.
Cllr Terry Evans, Lead Member for Environment, said: “The price of the 2026/27 service for has been frozen at £35, keeping us as one of the lowest and most economically priced local authorities in England and Wales for garden waste collections. Renewals have opened, so take advantage and subscribe to this excellent collection service ready for Spring and Summer.”

No bin stickers
As in the previous year, we won’t be sending out bin stickers as part of the garden waste collection service. Instead, we will be using our logistical system to identify properties that have paid for the latest service. We recommend for you to display your house name or number on your green bin to make it easier for us to match your bin against the details on our system.
Terms and conditions
Updated terms and conditions are available to view on our website. We aim to provide a minimum of 15 garden waste collections per year to each household.
As we no longer send out bin stickers, we don’t send out physical copies of the terms and conditions. You can pick up a physical copy in person from Contact Wrexham if you prefer.
I don’t want to renew the service – will you remove my garden waste bin?
Any unwanted garden waste bins can be removed on request. Once requested it may take a number of weeks for the bin to be collected. In the meantime, make sure your bin remains empty, accessible, but not left out causing an obstruction.
It may be worth keeping hold of your old garden waste bin for now because, if your garden waste bin has been removed and you change your mind in future, there is a charge for a new one.
What can I do with my garden waste if I do not want to pay for the collection service?
You can take your garden waste to one of the household waste recycling centres (free of charge). Alternatively, you could compost garden waste at home. Take a look at Wales Recycles’ ‘how to set up home composting’ guide which has some useful information.
