Our Play and Youth Support team has put together a useful Bulletin with plenty of ideas, tips and useful links to support parents and families to encourage children to keep playing in the home.
In this first edition you can find out what you children do with a simple stick by using their imagination and there’s a useful timetable of activities both indoors and outdoors to keep your children entertained which includes pillow fights and fort building.

“Playing makes children feel good”
Ian Roberts, Chief Officer Education and Early Intervention, said: “Playing makes children feel good and is essential for physical and mental health. It is vital that all children are able to play during this time and that learning is balanced with plenty of opportunities for play.
“Please take time to play with your children. They’ll appreciate it and it will help them cope with the difficulties we are all facing right now at having to stay at home.”
