Why buy when you can borrow?

Content
How it worksWhat’s available?“Reduce unnecessary waste”More than just borrowing!When can I visit?

At Lend & Mend in Tŷ Pawb, you can access what you need without the hefty price tag. It’s a cost-effective and eco-friendly way to get the items you need, exactly when you need them.

From sewing machines to camping gear, tools to party supplies, there’s plenty of useful items you can hire for a small cost (compared to what you’d pay to buy the item new yourself).

Whatever the weather, whatever the occasion, you’ll find something to help make the most of the month ahead.

How it works

Joining Lend & Mend is quick and easy:

  • Sign up and browse online or at the unit in Tŷ Pawb (ID checks required)
  • Book the item you need (for a small cost)
  • Collect from the unit or designated lockers
  • Return within the agreed timeframe – simple!

What’s available?

Bulky cleaning equipment – Get that deep clean without buying expensive tools you’ll use once! Rent high-quality cleaning equipment when you need it.

Hiking, Duke of Edinburgh kits and camping gear – Need gear for an adventure? There are kits available, perfect for outings or Duke of Edinburgh trips. (Please ask about volunteering opportunities for DofE credits inside the Lend & Mend unit).

Party and games packs – Planning a party? Borrow fun party packs and outdoor games – because celebrations should be exciting, not expensive!

“Reduce unnecessary waste”

Cllr Terry Evans, Lead Member for Environment, said: “Lend & Mend has a variety of items available to hire for a small cost, which can be useful if you only need to use something for a short amount of time. The borrow and return scheme helps to reduce unnecessary waste and saves you having to pay full price for something you won’t need very often.”

More than just borrowing!

Supported through UK Government Shared Prosperity funding, Wrexham Council is working with Benthyg Cymru, Repair Café Wales, Lend Engine, Refurbs and Groundwork North Wales to provide the project.

Lend & Mend is a hub for sustainability and creativity. Join us for upcycling workshops or visit the Repair Café to learn new skills, fix items, and reduce waste.

When can I visit?

You’ll find the unit in Tŷ Pawb. Opening hours are Tuesday-Friday 11.30am to 2.30pm, and Saturday 10.30am to 3.30pm.

It’s closed on Mondays and Sundays.
