Wrexham Council’s Housing Repairs Service is currently recruiting for qualified construction workers in a number of trades, including plasterers, gas plumbers and labourers.
The Housing Responsive Repairs Service is part of Wrexham Council’s Housing & Economy Department. They carry out repair and maintenance work on council owned housing properties.
A great team to be a part of
With 11,200 properties to maintain and approximately 1000 void properties to bring up to a lettable standard each year across the county borough, the Housing Repairs Service is a busy, reactive and varied department and a great team to be a part of.
With good terms and conditions, such as flexible working, 23 days annual leave, local authority pension scheme and a guaranteed monthly salary, it is definitely worth considering.
There may also be opportunities for further training and qualifications as part of the job.

“I get to work all over the county borough..”
A recently recruited joiner explains what he enjoys about working for the Repairs Service:
“My job involves going out to council properties and I work on all kinds of joinery jobs such as door frames, locks, windows, staircases and full kitchen installations in void properties. I applied for a job with the Council because I knew they had a good reputation as a well-run organisation and I’d get a chance to learn more skills and further my career prospects. It’s a really good team to work for. There’s a good working atmosphere and I especially enjoy the variation. I get to work in properties all over the county borough on different projects so it keeps the job interesting all the time.”
Lead Member for Housing, Cllr David Griffiths, said: “There are a number of excellent job opportunities on offer at the moment. This is a chance to work with a busy and experienced team with the possibility of further training and qualifications in the future, so I would encourage anyone who is interested to have a look at the council jobs board and get their applications in as soon as possible.”
