The nominations are now in for the Maesydre by-election, which will take place on March 18.

The formal list of the five candidates, from returning officer Ian Bancroft, is as follows:

Catherine BROWN for the Welsh Conservative Party

Roger DAVIES for the Welsh Liberal Democrats

Becca MARTIN for Plaid Cymru

Clive Graham RAY is Independent

Tom STANFORD for Welsh Labour

So, if you live in the Maesydre ward make sure you turn out to have your say. There are three ways to get your vote in:

  • In the polling station at Friend’s Meeting House, Holt Road on Thursday, March 18
  • By postal vote  – you will need to apply by 5pm on Wednesday, March 3
  • By proxy vote – make sure you apply by 5pm on Wednesday, March 10

Keep an eye out for your polling card, which will be sent out later this week.

Vote and stay safe

If you decide to vote in person, hand sanitiser will be available at the polling station, however, we ask that you bring your own pen or pencil as well as your polling card (having this with you will save time). Also, you must wear face covering and maintain a 2-metre distance from other voters and staff.

If you want to vote in person, but develop any symptoms of coronavirus after March 10, call us on 01978 292020.

If you have any other enquiries you can also contact us at electoral@wrexham.gov.uk.
