Wrexham Carnival of Words hosts a murder mystery evening during its annual festival and is calling for scripts to be put forward.

The competition

Open to published and unpublished writers, aged 16 or over!

The competition requires entrants to create a four-part character script plus a confession for two male characters and two female characters.

The ability to draw the audience into the murder mystery as they play detective is key.

The prize

The winning entrant will receive a prize of £100 and the script will be performed at the Murder Mystery evening (April 30) as part of Wrexham Carnival of Words 2025.

The winning author will also receive four free tickets to the Murder Mystery event.

The judge

The competition will be judged by Simon McCleave, Wrexham Carnival of Words patron and best-selling crime author.

Deadline

Entries must be submitted to Wrexham Library by 5pm on Monday 30 September, 2024.

To enter

To enter you must pay a non-refundable fee of £5 payable at the time of submission of your script and only one entry per person/group.

Details of the competition and the terms and conditions are available on the Wrexham Carnival of Words website.
