Join our environment staff for a Pumpkin Party to help celebrate the Wrexham Sweet Chestnut first year anniversary following our UK tree of the year win in 2023.

The Wrexham Sweet Chestnut is over 480 years old and stands proudly in Acton Park.  Ancient trees such as the Sweet Chestnut support a wide range of biodiversity as well as removing carbon and helping to maintain temperatures in urban environments so it is vitally important that we protect and support these magnificent living legends.

The Pumpkin Party will include:

  • Pumpkin decorating using our supplies of crafting materials to decorate your pumpkin ready for Halloween and take part in our range of autumn spooky crafts.  (Please bring your own Pumpkin)
  • Learn how to support wildlife through the Winter months through information and craft.
  • Enjoy our history trail taking you all around the park to learn about the trees long history with prizes to be won at the end.

The 2024 UK Tree of the Year list is already live and you can vote to for your favourite tree here Tree of the Year – Woodland Trust.

This event is funded by the Woodland Trust Emergency Tree Fund.
