When you go to the polling station on Thursday, July 4, remember to take your photo ID or you won’t be able to vote.
What ID will be accepted?
Accepted forms of ID include
- a UK, European Economic Area (EEA) or Commonwealth passport
- drivers’ licence
- concessionary travel passes, such as an older person’s bus pass or an Oyster 60+ card
Voters will be able to use expired ID if they are still recognisable from the photo.
The full list of accepted ID is available on the Electoral Commission’s website, along with more information about the new requirement.
The rules around delivering your postal votes have changed this year, read How do you vote if you can’t get to the polling station? to find out more.
