We’re currently consulting on revised suitability criteria for the standards that apply to hackney carriage and private hire drivers, vehicles and operators.

Our current standards for taxi drivers, vehicles and operators show that they are not currently consistent with the UK standards published by the Department for Transport or Welsh Government guidelines

Revised suitability criteria is now needed in order to comply with the DfT standard and Welsh Government guidelines.

We’re seeking views on revised suitability criteria that will be considered prior to a final decision on adoption by the Environmental Licensing Committee. Views are sought from drivers, operators, vehicle proprietors, trade bodies, users of taxis, user groups, the residents of the County Borough and any other interested parties.

You can find all the information on Your Voice Wrexham. Click on Suitability Criteria for Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Drivers  where you can access the relevant documents and feedback.

Responses and comments should be sent to licensingservice@wrexham.gov.uk

For anyone who does not have access to the internet and who may like to find out more about this and respond please call the engagement number 01978 292270 and leave your name and phone number on the voicemail and we will get back to you.

The final date for feedback is Monday 11 December.
