All ages are welcome and catered for as our library services open their doors to everyone week in, week out. Today, let’s take a look at some of the events you can join in with at Brynteg library.

Inspiring young imaginations

For parents and carers with babies and toddlers, you can bring your young ones along to the weekly Story and Rhyme Time sessions. This event is perfect for little ones under the age of 5.

The sessions take place every Tuesday, 2.15 p.m. until 2.45 p.m. It’s free to join and you don’t need to book in advance.

Also, for children with a keen eye for creating, there is a weekly Lego club every Saturday 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Designed to inspire creative thinking, teamwork, communication and problem solving, children will learn various soft skills whilst having heaps of fun.

Come along to this free event with no booking required. It is aimed at children ages 4 and over, however, building blocks are available for little ones under the age of 4 who want to attend.

Friends new and old

Sometimes, people may feel like they need a bit of company or may just want to make new friends. At Brynteg library, there is a Friendship Group where you can meet up with pals or make plenty of new ones.

The group meet every Thursday 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. It’s a very relaxed way to socialise and meet others. You can bring some crafts, a book, a quiz – or just yourself. Refreshments are provided for those coming to join in.

Individuals, families and carers are encouraged to come and join the Reminisce/Time to Remember sessions that are held every Friday 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

This is a fantastic opportunity to share your memories or reminisce with books. There’s also the option to try new activities and meet with others for a chat.

Feel free to turn up and enjoy with free refreshments on offer too.

Getting creative

In addition to the weekly schedule, there are also monthly activities too. Every second Monday of the month 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. is the Adult Craft Group.

Each month, there is a different project for the artists among us with many different mediums being used.

This event is suitable for all adults but spaces are limited so booking is essential. You can book your place today by emailing brynteg.library@wrexham.gov.uk or calling 01978 759523.

If you have an old jigsaw puzzle that could do with a new lease of life, there is a monthly Jigsaw Swap Shop. The first Wednesday of the month 2.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. sees a selection of donated and swapped puzzles on offer to take home.

Attendees are kindly asked to bring along complete puzzles only please.
