As well as a rich variety of books on offer, they aim to deliver a schedule of activities for everyone to get involved with.

Today, we’re going to take a look at what the team at Chirk library have in store for their visitors.

Fun for younger visitors

For creative children between the age of 4 and 11, they can come and let their imaginations run wild at the Lego Club.

Every Tuesday 3 pm – 4pm, children can come along and build all sorts of creations. They can learn great life skills such as creative thinking, teamwork, communication, conflict resolution and problem-solving through fun soft play.

Parents and carers with babies and toddler can bring their little ones along to Story & Rhyme Time.

Hosted every Thursday 2.15 pm – 2.45 pm, the group is a free session of awe-inspiring stories and terrific word play. There is no need to book, just come along and enjoy some enchanting tales.

Supporting the community

Residents aged 50 and over can come along to the Community Agent Drop In session held every Monday 10 am until 12 noon.

Here, our community agents can support you in making informed choices about you current and future needs. The sessions are aimed to help you feel more independent, secure and cared for.

Pop in and have an informal chat with Brigitte. There is no booking required and drop in sessions are free of charge.

Every Monday 11.30 am – 1 pm, the Men’s Group meet and is open to all men of any age to drop in to a safe and non-judgemental space to chat. The group host activities, guest speakers and refreshments free of charge.

There is no booking requirement to take part, just come along and join in.

On the second Monday of the month, 2 pm – 4 pm, Chirk library offers an Integrated Autism Service Drop In.

These sessions can offer advice/support, and let you know about specialist services that could help people either with autism, or those supporting an adult or child with autism.

No booking is needed for these sessions and visitors are welcome to come along at any point during the drop in.

A shared creative passion

For adults with a love for all things literary, the Adult Reading Group meet on the first Monday of the month, 1 pm – 2 pm.

Here, you can join fellow book fanatics to discuss the latest titles up for discussion and possibly make new friends with a shared interest in the written word.

Alternatively, if you are a keen wordsmith, the Adult Creative Writing Group welcomes you on the first Friday of the month, 10.30 am – 11.30 am.

This is a great chance to share a story you’d like others to hear. It’s a space to come to if you need inspiration, feedback, or even a cup of tea. Members can share ideas and encourage each other on their literary projects.

For further details on all the events mentioned here and more, head over to our libraries events page. Alternatively, you can call Chirk library 01691 772344 or email chirk.library@wrexham.gov.uk for more information.
