There are plenty of events for all ages and interests in your local library and, today, we’ll take a look at what activities you can take part in at Gwersyllt library.

Located in the Gwersyllt Community Resource Centre on Second Avenue, their friendly staff will always have a warm welcome for visitors.

From sports chat to the drawing board

Gwersyllt library has the perfect way to kick-start your week with weekly events taking part every Monday.

Between 2 pm and 3 pm, there’s a chance for sports enthusiasts to meet and digest the weekend’s sporting events over tea and biscuits. The Sports Digestive welcomes one and all to join in.

For those who have budding young artists, there is the Colouring Time for children every Monday 3 pm – 4.45 pm. It’s a great chance for young ones to let their creativity flow and meet new friends. It’s a free event with no booking required and all the materials are provided.

Creative hobbies and new friends

Tuesdays at Gwersyllt library offer great opportunities to make new friends and get together with others who share the same interests.

The Knit and Natter group meet every Tuesday 2 pm – 4pm. You can have a chat whilst you work on your knitting or crochet project. It’s a chance to learn new skills or improve on your existing ones. This free event is suitable for all adults.

You can also join in with the Over 60’s Book Lending Club. It’s a time to make new friends over the shared love of reading and swap recommendations for the next book to delve in to.

A pause for thought

There is a calming atmosphere on Wednesday at the library as the free weekly Quiet Time takes place 10 am – 11am. Come along and take a moment to have some quiet reading time.

In addition, there is a weekly Mindfulness Colouring session 10 am – 1 pm. Come along to this free event to destress and get creative.

On the first Wednesday of the month, the Craft Group get together 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm to come up with some amazing pieces. Why not come and join them for this free event?

Every second Wednesday of the month at 2.30 pm, the Memories sessions are held. It’s a wonderful opportunity for people to reminisce with friends and make new ones along the way. All are welcome to take part in this free event.

Collecting and building

For all children under 16 looking to complete their trading card or sticker collections, the Swap Session takes place every Thursday 3.30 pm – 4 pm. Collectors can come along with any swaps they may have to trade with others to complete their sets. There is a bring one, take one policy in place with no adult traders allowed.
