Drop-in session

There will also be a drop-in session at Ty Pawb on Tuesday, January 13 between 2pm and 3pm – when council officers will be on-hand to answer any queries you have.

Wrexham Council has launched a consultation on its City Centre Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), which it uses to help tackle anti-social behaviour.

The most recent order has been in place since 2023 and it is a legal requirement to renew, vary or change PSPO’s every three years.

The PSPO contains prohibitions around aspects of anti-social behaviour and the control of public use of alcohol and substances, which allows delegated officers to carry out enforcement action across a defined area of the city.

We’re not proposing any changes to the PSPO – we’re just proposing to extend the order for another three years.

The consultation will run until January 18.

Councillor Paul Roberts, Wrexham Council’s Lead Member for Community Safety, said: “PSPOs can be a useful tool in dealing with certain types of anti-social behaviour, and we’ve had one in the city centre for several years.

“We’re now considering extending the order for another three years, but before we do this, we want to know what people think…do they think the PSPO is useful, and have we got the balance right? Please spare five minutes to share your views.”
