There are lots of chances for your children to get stuck in to the fun at the council’s playwork playschemes this year, and you can find out the days, times and locations in our previous blog post.

And this summer there is even more to do! As part of the Summer of Fun, some of the playwork sessions will offer circus skills and you can find all the details of those sessions below.

August 15
11am-1pm and 2-4pm
Cefn Mawr (Plas Kynaston Park, next to the library)
Johnstown Morton Circle

Hightown Bryncabanau Playground

August 24
11am-1pm and 2-4pm
Brymbo Lamberton Drive
Gwersyllt Bradley Fields

August 25

Acrefair School field
Gwenfro Valley Adventure playground

Playwork sessions are most suitable for 5-12 year olds, but all ages are welcome. Under 5s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Parents are welcome to stay if they wish. Children over 5 are able to attend independently, but we require a registration form to be completed by an adult at the 1st session they attend.

Sessions vary depending on the site, the weather and what the children want to do that day. Sessions usually get messy so we recommend old clothing and dressing suitably for the weather. All our sessions are outdoors and most do not have access to toilet facilities.

Play sessions are not a substitute for childcare and it’s the parent’s responsibility to make arrangements with their child regarding pick up/permissions to leave site etc.

If children require additional support to access the sessions, we offer the inclusion project. Forms can be completed online for this service & a member of the team will be in touch with the family to arrange support. https://www.wrexham.gov.uk/service/childrens-social-care/play-and-youth-support-team
