Two months to go until single-use vapes ban starts

Two months to go until single-use vapes ban starts
SHARE

There is just two months to go until a ban on the sale or supply of single-use vape products in the UK comes into force, from 1 June 2025.

The ban applies to single-use vapes with or without nicotine.

Businesses are encouraged to switch to reusable products now.

Vapes are electrical items, whether they are single-use or reuseable. If you sell vapes you must offer a ‘take back’ recycling service where you accept vapes and vape parts (such as used pods, coils or batteries) that customers return for recycling.

Vapes should be disposed of in special vape bins only and regularly collected for recycling because they are a fire risk.

The Welsh Government has written to small- and medium-size retailers across Wales who have been identified as selling or supplying single-use vapes, but the ban applies to anyone selling single-use vapes across the UK.

A guide for businesses is available at www.gov.wales/singleusevapes
