More great news for Tŷ Pawb’s market hall

Lead Member with responsibility for Tŷ Pawb , Cllr Hugh Jones said: “We know from the popularity of our regular events, including coffee and crafts, play sessions and free lunchtime concerts that there is a keen audience for daytime activities. These additional, free activities will allow us to develop the daily programme significantly – there will now be at least one free, daytime activity taking place on all 6 days of the week that Tŷ Pawb is open. There are activities cover a wide range of interests and age groups and there will be a warm welcome for anyone who wishes to attend.

“All activities will take place in the market hall and food court area and are part of a wider series of projects we are undertaking to expand and enhance the daytime experience for visitors, bring in additional footfall and support our traders. Thanks to another UK Government SPF funded project, building work has now begun to create a new, open, flexible space in the market hall, with brand-new furniture and play equipment, allowing additional space for events and more capacity for people to sit in the food court.

“We are also delighted to announce that Tŷ Pawb has been awarded funding from the Welsh Government’s Capital Investment Fund, delivered through Arts Council Wales. This will fund a feasibility study to enhance the North Arcade entrance area and the Flexi Space.

“With a number of brand-new businesses about to open in the next few weeks, this caps off a very positive time for Tŷ Pawb’s market hall and food court.”
