Businessline is a professional and largely free information service provided by Wrexham County Borough Council for anyone starting a business, already in business or studying business.

As a specialist business information service, Businessline buys in a variety of resources, so you don’t have to. Coupled with extensive knowledge of business affairs, business information sources and research skills, Businessline can find the information that you need, saving you time and money!

Don’t waste time searching the internet let the people at Businessline do it for you.

WATCH: Gareth Hatton, who has over 10 years’ experience working for Businessline, explaining how Businessline can help you:

Who can Businessline help?

  • Business Start-ups
  • Established Businesses
  • Students
  • Job Seekers
  • Business Support Organisations

“Over 6000 enquires”

Terry Evans, Lead Member for Economy – Economic Development and Regeneration said, “This is an excellent service which is largely free. If you are looking at starting up a business or need some business advice, I strongly advise you to get in touch with the Businessline team. They deal with over 6000 enquiries on an annual basis, a complete and tailored business support package is provided to clients with the fundamental aim of strengthening and helping to grow the local community.”

The resources and advice that Businessline provides can help individuals to:

  • Start a business / identify relevant start-up support
  • Research their market in terms of both current and predicted future performance
  • Access tailored business-to-business marketing lists
  • Credit check businesses based in the UK
  • Identify local marketing / networking opportunities

As a direct result of the support from Businessline, clients have been able to secure additional sales (ranging from fairly low values to those exceeding £1000), win major contracts (such as the supply of bags to the 2012 Olympic Games), prepare business plans to secure funding. They have even helped clients prepare pitches to potential investors (such as Dragons Den BBC Television Show) as well as simply aiding clients to successfully start and develop a new business.

Since joining Businessline, Gareth has both developed the service and launched a number of new initiatives to support businesses. Gareth has also coordinated events bringing some of the UKs leading business speakers to Wrexham.

In 2014 Gareth was named National Library Champion of the Year, a prestigious award formally recognising and highlighting his achievements at Businessline and the valued impact a business information service can have on influencing economic prosperity from a library setting.
