Sian Lloyd, the Welsh television presenter and long-serving meteorologist, will visit Tŷ Pawb later this week to mark her new role as an ambassador for the markets, communities and arts facility.

Sian is the UK’s longest-serving female weather forecaster, having appeared on ITV for more than 24 years. She is also a keen ambassador for the Welsh language, Welsh culture and the arts in Wales.

She will be visiting during preparation for the upcoming PLAY-WORK exhibition – an interactive playground-styled piece of art, which will document the important and internationally renowned history of play in Wrexham.

Her visit will take place on our annual Play Day, and will give her an excellent insight into how Wrexham celebrates children’s right to play.

Sian said: “I’m very excited to be visiting Wrexham later this week to take a look at some of the work behind Tŷ Pawb’s upcoming PLAY-WORK exhibition.

“Both play and the arts play very strong roles in the lives and development of children and young people, and I’m very interested to see how the two of those will come together as part of the exhibition.

“My visit to Tŷ Pawb will also be very timely, in that I’ll be there in time for Play Day 2019 – so I’m sure there’ll be plenty to see in the town centre during the day!”

Cllr Hugh Jones, Lead Member for Communities, Partnerships, Public Protection and Community Safety, said: “We’re very pleased that Sian has agreed to take on an ambassadorial role for Tŷ Pawb, and I’m sure that preparation for the PLAY-WORK exhibition will give her a fantastic opportunity to take a look at just some of the work which Tŷ Pawb carries out as a facility.”
