Woody’s Lodge, a leading charity in Wales dedicated to supporting veterans, former emergency service personnel, and their families, is thrilled to announce the opening of its very first charity shop in Wrexham.

Located at Chester Street in the heart of the Ty Pawb community complex, this marks a significant milestone for Woody’s Lodge as the first charity shop in Wrexham dedicated to supporting ex-military and blue light services.

This exciting venture would not have been possible without the generous support of Wrexham Council, who have provided Woody’s Lodge with the opportunity to occupy one of their properties in this vibrant community hub.

Their partnership has been instrumental in helping the charity establish a presence in Wrexham, where the shop will serve as a vital resource for raising funds and awareness for the essential services Woody’s Lodge provides.

In addition to offering a wide variety of pre-loved clothing, accessories, homeware, and more, the shop will feature a unique display of military memorabilia, kindly loaned by local veterans and associations.

These treasured items, which will not be for sale, offer visitors a powerful connection to the history and experiences of those who have served. This display underscores the deep community ties that Woody’s Lodge is fostering and serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our service members.

“We are incredibly grateful to Wrexham Council for their support and for helping us make our dream of opening a charity shop a reality,” said Graham Jones, CEO, at Woody’s Lodge.

“This shop will be a beacon of support for veterans and blue light service personnel in Wrexham, and we are excited to become part of this wonderful community. The addition of military memorabilia on display further strengthens our mission to honour and support those who have given so much.”

Councillor Beverley Parry-Jones, Wrexham Council’s Armed Forces Champion, said: “We’re delighted to support Woody’s Lodge, who have chosen Wrexham as a location for its new shop.

“We’ve worked very closely to find a good city centre location with this excellent charity that does so much to help people who’ve served.”

Woody’s Lodge invites everyone to visit the new shop, explore the wide range of items available, view the military memorabilia on display, and learn more about the charity’s mission.

The charity looks forward to welcoming the local community into the store and working together to support those who have served our country.
