We recently revealed that we will be launching our first ever modern methods of construction (MMC) new build at a site on Heol Offa, Johnstown.
The development will replace 2 semi-detached dwellings, which had previously been demolished with a two-storey apartment block offering one bedroom apartments, which will offer long term homes for either single occupancy residents or couples, in line with Wrexham Council’s Allocation Policy.
The pre start meetings have taken place and the work is confirmed to be starting as of 27th June. We will continue to update on our progress of this site, which aims to be completed in early 2025.
These green homes will produce less carbon emissions than homes built under the current Building Regulations and will feature new technology when it comes to heating, hot water systems and reducing heat waste, which will reduce the carbon footprint and save money for our contract holders.
We are pleased that work will commence in the Summer with these sustainable visions in mind.
The homes will be suitable for either single occupancy residents or couples. This is in order to address the growing demand for these types of properties across the Borough.
Councillor David A Bithell, Lead Member for Housing said, “This is a great opportunity for us to build homes which addresses the demand for single / couple occupancy homes in Wrexham.
“The works will include new technology that will be beneficial to the contract holder long term.
“The work will begin in the Summer and hopes to be completed in 2025. We will continue to update you on our progress with this project”
