Information Session for Potential Task Group Members on 24/01/2024 AT 6pm in Ty Pawb performance space.

A number of Wrexham businesses have been looking at the possibility of introducing a Business Improvement District (BID). With over 320 BIDs in operation in the UK including in nearby Chester and Shrewsbury this concept is a different way to manage and promote cities and towns and may be an opportunity for Wrexham City Centre

Feasibility work has already been carried out to look at how a BID might benefit Wrexham by consultants. Having completed this research, we would now like to invite businesses and to an Information Session with a view to forming a BID Task Group to carry the work forward.

This will be a chance to find about what a BID is, how it has worked elsewhere and what it could do for Wrexham City Centre. It will also set out the terms of reference for a Task Group going forward. Attendees will also have the chance to ask questions of the team that has been working on this.

It is vital that local businesses lead in the development of a BID as it is designed to provide control, leadership and finances to the business community for improving the local trading environment. The thoughts and opinions of local businesses are central to this process, and essential for shaping the future.

We hope that you will be able to join us for this important session which will help us decide how Wrexham City Centre is potentially managed and marketed in the coming years. Please confirm your attendance by emailing Amy.Wainscott@wrexham.gov.uk by 23/01/2024 and thank you for your time and interest.
