Wrexham will once again be celebrating National Playday with an event held in Wrexham city centre, on Wednesday, August 6, 12-4pm on Queen’s Square and Llwyn Isaf (the Guildhall field).

Playday is for everyone – no matter your age! Babies and toddlers, older children, teenagers, parents, grandparents and professionals, are all invited to join in this free and playful event.

Organisations involved in children’s play and playwork from across Wrexham will be coming together to provide a wide range of free playful opportunities, including favourites like the giant sandpit and junk play.

Cllr Phil Wynn, lead member for education, said: “The aim of this event is to highlight children’s right to play, encouraging people to recognise the value of playing to children, their families and their local communities. Wrexham’s Playday event is part of the local authority’s continued commitment to try and ensure all children across the county borough have enough time, space and permission to play.”

Everything at Playday is completely free; all you need to bring with you is a playful mood and some clothes that you don’t mind getting wet and messy. Why not bring a picnic and stay all afternoon!
