Wrexham Council are calling on local children to take part in their ‘Design a Sign’ competition to promote anti-dog fouling.
The competition has been sent to all primary schools within the borough, asking children to create colourful designs to remind everyone to pick up after their dogs and keep our spaces clean and welcoming.
Councillor Terry Evans, Lead Member for Environmental Services said “Dog fouling is an issue that affects everyone in our communities, this competition is a fantastic way to encourage children to share an important message in a creative and positive way. We hope their designs will help remind dog owners to do the right thing and keep Wrexham clean for everyone.”
The lucky winners will be invited to meet the mayor and have their design turned into real signs, which will be erected around our local communities.
Mayor Tina Mannering said “This is a fantastic opportunity for children to make a positive contribution to their communities through creativity. I look forward to meeting the winners and congratulating them on their designs being turned into a sign that will help promote cleaner, more welcoming spaces across the borough.”
The competition deadline is Friday 17th April 2026.
Completed posters and entry sheets can be returned to Wrexham County Borough Council, Abbey Road, Wrexham Industrial Estate, Wrexham, LL13 9PW.
