As Wrexham prepares to host the National Eisteddfod in August 2025, excitement is growing across the community. In the spirit of celebration and support, the Ysgol Morgan Llwyd cluster of Welsh-medium schools will present a special fundraising concert at the Stiwt Theatre in Rhosllanerchrugog on Wednesday, 25th June 2025 at 6:30pm.

This uplifting evening will feature a vibrant programme of Welsh songs performed by pupils from all ten schools within the cluster, showcasing their talents and passion for Welsh culture. The concert aims to raise funds for the National Eisteddfod while also promoting pride in our language, heritage, and community.

Everyone is welcome—Welsh and its cultural events belong to all. The majority of children in Welsh-medium schools in Wrexham come from non-Welsh-speaking homes, and their families are deeply invested in our commitment to building a bilingual, inclusive community. Wrexham offers a wealth of support for families, children, schools, and the wider community to ensure that Welsh is accessible and welcoming to all.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased by contacting Ysgol Bodhyfryd at 01978 351168 or by emailing mailbox@bodhyfryd-pri.wrexham.sch.uk. All proceeds will go directly to the National Eisteddfod fund.

The last National Eisteddfod held in Wrexham in 2011 sparked a surge of interest in Welsh-medium education. Organisers hope that this year’s Eisteddfod—and the events leading up to it—will once again inspire a renewed sense of pride and participation in Welsh culture.

For more information about Welsh-medium education in Wrexham, the support available, and the benefits of bilingualism, please visit our one-stop portal.

Join us for an evening of music, community, and celebration—and help support the future of the Welsh language in Wrexham and beyond.
