Tŷ Pawb will be the venue for a free event to celebrate Black History Cymru 365 later this month.

The multicultural and multilingual event – titled ‘Celebrate and Elevate’ – will take place on Saturday 21st October, 10am-5pm and will feature food from all over the world, family activities, live performances and film showings.

From 10am-12pm there will be free multicultural & multilingual arts activities for children.

The line-up features a whole host of talented performers from Wrexham and beyond, including Spanish & Poland and Arabic music, Chinese, African and Indian folk dancing, plus DJ’s.

There will also be a stall selling items made by Wrexham’s Portuguese crafts group, Bom Dia Cymru .

Event organiser, Iolanda Banu Viegas said: “I’m very honoured to organise Black History Cymru 365 on behalf of Race Council Cymru for past 10 years, and proud to see it growing each year. We’re very grateful for our partners, sponsors and for the support from all the diverse communities from North Wales. This year will be bigger and better and we’re all very excited to welcome you and your family on 21st October at Tŷ Pawb!”

Lead Member with responsibility for Tŷ Pawb Cllr Hugh Jones, “This event promises to show Wrexham at its very best, a brilliant celebration of our multicultural communities with a line-up full of talented local performers and delicious international food. It’s a free event for all ages and there will be a warm welcome for everyone so I would encourage all to come and enjoy the day and celebrate Black History Cymru 365 in our city.”

The event has been made possible thanks to support from Arts Council of Wales, North East Wales Community Cohesion, Norh Wales Multicultural Hub, CIC Community Interest Company, Race Council Cymru, Black History Wales and Welsh Government Anti-racist Wales.
