Some of you might think there’s not much more to do at our libraries than to lend, read and return books… we’re here to tell you that you couldn’t be more wrong!

To illustrate this we’ve gone and compiled a list of some of the spectacular upcoming events at some of our county’s libraries.

Grwp Darllen Cymraeg

Are you a member of Wrexham’s Welsh Speaking Community? Are you looking for other like-minded Welsh Speakers to share your reading experiences with? Then look no further.

Ruabon library would like to invite you to a meeting on Monday, June 3, 3pm to discuss starting a Welsh Language reading group.

The group would focus on Welsh literature, to run in conjunction with their existing Reading Group. For more information, call 01978 822002.

Babies & Toddlers Group

Tell us – are there many better ways to start off the week than by letting your children run amok for a few hours while you sit back and enjoy a nice warm cuppa with some other equally worn out parents? We can’t think of many.

Sessions for this group run at Chirk library every Monday morning at 9am and are a great way for both you and your children to meet others with an interest in reading.

Staff will also be on hand to help choose books for you and your children to read too!

Reading Group News

Reading groups will meet next week at Rhos Library on Monday, 3rd June, 2-3pm; at Chirk Library on Tuesday, 4th June, 2-3pm; and Ruabon library on Wednesday, 5th June at 2.15pm.

Coedpoeth Library Kids Club

There’s a few things your kids can expect from the Coedpoeth Library Kids Club – crafts, colouring, puzzles and heaps of fun; definitely not one to be missed!

This free session takes place on Tuesday June 4, 3:30 – 4:15pm and children aged 3-8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Chatterbox Language and Play at your local library

Language and Play Chatterbox sessions for parents and children aged 0-2 years old will take place next week at Gwersyllt Library on Wednesday, June 5 10-11.15am followed by a session at Llay library later that day 1-2.15pm. Brynteg library will also be hosting a session on Friday, June 7 1-2.15pm.

These free sessions are designed for children aged 0-2 years old and gives them an opportunity to share stories, chat, play and much much more. Booking isn’t needed, all you have to do is show up on the day.

Parchment Craft & 5 D Diamond Printing

Are you looking for a new hobby to take up? Are you at a loose end on Thursdays? Well we’ve got some good news for you!

Llay Library is hosting a free craft group every Thursday, 1-3 pm – come along and try something new?
