A unique event aimed at promoting the Welsh language is set to come to Wrexham on July 4.
Up to 200 runners will run through the town centre as part of Ras yr Iaith to raise awareness of the Welsh Language and raise funds to for activities that will promote the Welsh language up and down the country.
This means the roads in the town centre will be closed for loading/unloading and parking between 9.00am and 11.00am for the safety of the runners.
The route the runners will take is from Llwyn Isaf to Lambpit Street, along Chester Street, up High Street to Hope Street, along Hope Street to Argyle Street and across Queenss Square.
There will be traffic marshalls at the Chester/Street/Holt Street junction, Yorke Street/High Street junction, Regent Street/Hill Street junction and Rhosddu Road/Egerton Street Junction ensuring traffic cannot access the route while the event is on.
Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for the Environment, said: “We know this will cause some inconvenience but it’s all in a good cause and it’s great to see the town centre used for such events.”
