Important notice from Wrexham Council

The essential gas main repair works that will take place on High Street, Ruabon, means that there will be changes to bus service routes in the area. The following is the latest information we have from bus operators about the changes:

“Arriva Midlands”

Route 2, 2A & 2C towards Wrexham will turn right at the Wynnstay Hotel in Ruabon and serve the temporary bus stop on Park Street near the Wynnstay Hotel. Buses will then proceed on the A483 towards Rhostyllen, and resume normal route to Wrexham from Rhostyllen Roundabout.

Route 2, 2A & 2C towards Cefn Mawr & Oswestry will divert from Rhostyllen down the A483 to the Whitchurch (A539) turning and then double back into Ruabon (left, left again and over bypass) and serve the temporary bus stop at Park Street, near Wynnstay Hotel before carrying on normal route.

Passengers wanting Ruabon village, Vauxhall Ind. Est and Johnstown will change here for the 2B (when operating) or carry on to Rhostyllen to connect with route 3/4/4A to continue their journeys

Route 2B (both directions) will operate normal route to/from Ruabon High Street to the health centre and turn around and start back towards Wrexham.

“Arriva Bus Wales”

Route 5 & 5E towards Wrexham will turn right at the Wynnstay Hotel in Ruabon and serve the temporary bus stop on Park Street near the Wynnstay Hotel. Buses will then proceed on the A483 towards Rhostyllen and resume normal route to Wrexham from Rhostyllen Roundabout.

Route 5 & 5E towards Llangollen will divert from Rhostyllen down the A483 to the Whitchurch (A539) turning and then double back into Ruabon (left, left again and over bypass) and serve the temporary bus stop at Park Street, near Wynnstay Hotel before carrying on normal route.

“Coastline Taxis”

Route X5 towards Wrexham from A539 Llangollen Road will proceed directly on the A483 to Wrexham.

Route X5 towards Corwen from Wrexham will proceed directly along the A483 to re-join normal route at the A539 Llangollen Road.

Route 2 towards Wrexham from the A539 Llangollen Road, the bus will join the A483 at junction 1 and then exit at junction 2, towards Ruabon via New Hall Road, and re-join the B5605 Wynville to resume normal route to Wrexham.

Route 2 towards Oswestry will divert from B5605 Wynville at Ruabon, onto New Hall Road, and via A483 to Junction 1 and then proceed on the A539 before carrying on normal route to Cefn Mawr.

Route 2D towards Wrexham from the A539 Llangollen Road, the bus will join the A483 at junction 1 and then exit at junction 2, towards Ruabon via New Hall Road, and re-join the B5605 Wynville to resume normal route to Wrexham.

Route 2D towards Cefn Mawr will divert from B5605 Wynville at Ruabon, onto New Hall Road, and via A483 to Junction 1 and then proceed on the A539 before carrying on normal route to Cefn Mawr.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “These essential gas works will inevitably mean disruption to the public because their usual routes are not available to use and I am grateful to the bus operators for their response to this matter.”

These are commercially operated routes and you should check individual bus operators’ websites for the latest information.
