If you live away from your home town during the academic year, did you know you can register to vote at both your home address AND your university accommodation address?
This means that no matter where you are when there is an election, you can make your voice heard.
The ballot box is where you have your say on who represents you, locally or nationally, and makes decisions on your behalf.
If you don’t register, you can’t vote, it’s as simple as that.
Being able to register in both places means that you will always have the chance to cast your vote.
Remember that your next chance to vote is May 2027 in the local elections so, wherever you will be, make sure you can have your say by visiting the GOV.UK website to register at both addresses.
There is just one rule – you can only vote once! Voting twice can be illegal – depending on the election – so check out the rules at Students | Electoral Commission
