As you are aware we are experiencing prolonged periods of rain with approximately 30-40 mm of rainfall widespread across all areas, with rainfall of up to approximately 70-80 mm on high ground.

Current forecasts suggest that rain is easing through today, but picking up again later.  Heavier bursts of rain are forecast through the evening and overnight anticipated in the region of 20-30 mm.  Improving weather situation tomorrow.

National matter and warnings – Update

A Flood Warning has been issued by Natural Resources Wales.

Flood Warning in force: Lower Dee Valley from Llangollen to Trevalyn Meadows.

Flooding is expected for: Isolated properties and extensive areas of agricultural land in the Lower Dee flood plain.

Flood alert in place in Bangor-on-Dee.  At this moment in time risks are relatively low.

A growing number of issues all currently localised., but many have been attended to today.

Over 150 independent reports received via the contact centre and are currently receiving attention.

Unfortunately we are aware of a small number of property breaches. Numerous calls being dealt with requesting sand bags.

Travel Disruption

Disruption to rail traffic – advise check with National Rail Enquiries

A41 Broxton to Chester – CLOSED by CHESHIRE POLICE

Available diversion via A534 (problems at Llan y Pwll locally this is being monitored carefully)

Local Roads

A number of strategic traffic routes are experiencing problems;

Cefn Road – Five Fords – CLOSED River Clywedog over topped

Gamford Lane, Rosset – CLOSED – Drains at capacity

B5130 Isycoed / Bowling Bank – passable with care

B4500 Pontgadog passable with care
