Empty gas canister?

It’s important that you return them to your supplier.

Gas canisters are potentially hazardous and should not be put in your rubbish bin. It’s best to check with the company you bought it from as they should be able to refill or dispose of it for you.

No matter how mild your symptoms are, you should get a test for Coronavirus

Empty gas canisters can be extremely dangerous if disposed of in your recycling or general waste bins and could explode or hurt someone.

Never put any of these in the residual/black waste bin

  • Portable batteries (found in laptops/cell phones/hearing aids/watches/portable cameras/torches/electric toothbrushes/razors/hand-held vacuum cleaners), rechargeable batteries and domestic batteries (AA/AAA/9 volt) – Recycle them at most shops and supermarkets which sell batteries or take them to the Household Recycling CentresWarning: disposing of gas bottle canisters
  • Small household fire extinguishers – take them to the HRCs
  • Non-refillable gas bottle canisters (used for small cooking heaters BBQ) – IF they have no fluid or gas inside, recycle them with plastics and cans at kerbside BUT if they have anything left in them, take them to HRCs

For a full list of what can be recycled in Wrexham, take a look at this handy guide.
