It’s an exciting time to join the North Wales Adoption Service (NWAS) and we are currently recruiting for nine new, permanent roles within the team.

The service covers all six local authority areas in North Wales and is expanding to provide a wider range of specialist services to adopters and some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the region.

Here’s a bit more information about two of the new roles:

1 x Service Lead

The service lead will be responsible for a team of 32 staff, so excellent strategic management and leadership skills are essential. If successful, you will take responsibility for the overall strategic and operational management, planning and performance of the North Wales Adoption Service.

2 x Team Managers

Do you have excellent leadership, development and coaching skills?

As a team manager, you will be expected to ensure safeguarding is embedded within your team.

You will have experience as an adoption team leader or have more senior management experience as well as having significant experience of adoption.

Cllr Andrew Atkinson, lead member for children’s services said, “We are looking for talented leaders to ensure that our adoption services in North Wales are of the highest quality. The North Wales Adoption Service is a regional service undertaking the recruitment, training, assessment and support of adopters and family finding for the six North Wales authorities. These roles are an exciting opportunity for professional, experienced leaders in the field of adoption and I would encourage anyone interested to apply.”

Candidates need to be willing to engage in ongoing professional development to expand their knowledge and experience in the field of adoption.

The successful applicants will be joining a dedicated, highly experienced team with a strong emphasis on reflective practice, training and development and will receive dedicated management support including regular supervision.
