We’d like to celebrate Volunteer’s Week this year with a massive thank you to all those who have stepped up and provided a vital lifeline to our communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now, more than ever, we can all appreciate the huge contribution they make to the lives of others. Without them there would be a huge demand on public services and one that couldn’t be answered so efficiently and quickly.

Volunteers are always busy helping others but since the Covid-19 pandemic many more have put up their hand and volunteered to help where they can.
Many volunteers have been busy delivering prescriptions, food parcels and leaflets, regularly phoning and shopping for those who are shielding or vulnerable and providing community reassurance.
“Work of volunteers is invaluable”
Ian Bancroft, Chief Executive and Cllr Mark Pritchard, Leader of the Council jointly agreed: “The work of volunteers is invaluable at all times but particularly welcome and appreciated during the past few weeks where they have provided a life-line to many people in Wrexham who are shielding or are vulnerable. We would like to thank them for all their hard work as we continue to deal with the Covid-19 situation.”
We are joined in our thanks by the North Wales Resilience Forum who would like to say a huge thank you to the volunteers who are working so hard to support communities across our area.
They said: “We are inspired by the generosity shown by people throughout the region and would definitely not achieve as much without the skills and experience of all our volunteers.”
