Libraries in Wrexham are due to close their Click and Collect service as part of the Welsh Government Circuit Break.

uLibrary and BorrowBox – free e-books and e-audio booksBlack History Month

However as a library member you can still access and enjoy 1,000’s of books and audiobooks via uLibrary, BorrowBox and our online services portal.

uLibrary and BorrowBox – free e-books and e-audio books

If you’re struggling for something different to read during these unprecedented times, don’t worry, as Wrexham Library service currently has access to a fabulous catalogue of e-resources for both e-books and audio-books.

uLibrary can be downloaded onto Apple or Android phones and tablets-it can also be used on your computer.

BorrowBox, much like uLibrary is app based and can be used on Apple, Android and Kindle devices.

Both are chock-full of content and are designed to be easily navigable.

Protect the people you love. Download the Covid-19 NHS app.

Black History Month

This October we celebrate Black History Month, dedicated to the stories and storytellers from African and Caribbean communities in the UK, Ireland and across the world.

From the trailblazers to more contemporary contributors, you can choose from our selection of titles-We have a few suggestions below:

Pulitzer Prize winner, The Colour Purple, by Alice Walker.

Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People about Race, by Reni Eddo-Lodge.

Booker prize winner ‘Girl, Woman, Other,’ by Bernadine Evaristo.

The Brighton Mermaid, by Dorothy Koomson.

The Windrush Betrayal: Exposing the Hostile Environment, by Amelia Gentleman.

My Sister the Serial Killer, by Oyinkan Braithwaite.

Download these and more in electronic format.

Download the Covid-19 NHS app…and help keep Wrexham safe this autumn.

Help with job applications

Whether you have recently been made redundant; are looking for your first job; or you are looking for a new challenge, Wrexham Library has a range of downloadable content to assist you with the job application and interview processes.

Titles available to download include:

Creating a Successful CV, by Simon Howard.

How to write a CV that really works, by Paul McGee.

Get the job you really want, by James Caan.

How to Pass Psychometric Tests, by Andrea Shavick.

As a Wrexham Libraries member, you can also access ‘Universal Skills – Universal Credit and Find a Job’ for FREE.

This online resource also includes an easy to use step by step guide.

You are only a click or phone call away from some help with your future career.

Cllr John Pritchard, Lead Member for Youth Services and Anti Poverty, said: “libraries have some great free resources that ensure that we can keep reading during these very difficult times. We all look forward to seeing them open once more, but for now check them out online to see what’s on offer.”
