Roadworks Christmas

You’ll all be pleased to know that once again we will be banning roadworks in and around the town centre until 4 January 2021 to help the traffic flow freely during the busy Christmas period.

The plans do allow for emergency works only to take place if necessary.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for the Environment and Transport, said: “With many people travelling home for Christmas and into the town centre for Christmas shopping it’s particularly important this year that we keep the roads as free from roadworks as possible.

Cllr Mark Pritchard, Leader of the Council with responsibility for car parking, said: “Please also take advantage of the free parking in all our town centre car parks after 11 am except at Tŷ Pawb and the 30 minute Order and Collect free parking bays on High Street.”

Cllr Terry Evans, Lead Member for Economic Development and Regeneration, said: “The “click and collect” spaces are on High Street outside the Butcher’s Market and give you 30 minutes free parking to pick up any items you have pre-ordered from traders.
