During National Adoption Week, we are aiming to raise awareness of adoption in Wrexham and North Wales.

Lead Member for Children’s Services, Cllr Rob Walsh, said: “If you’ve ever thought about adopting a child or children, there is a wealth of knowledge in our Adoption Team and dedicated social workers who all work together with local families and local schools to build better futures for local children. If you need any more information or would like to take the next step in your adoption journey, please contact the team. They are extremely knowledgeable and more than happy to help with any questions or information you may need.”

Received a letter/form about the electoral register? Just follow the instructions so we know you’re registered and ready to vote.

If you have room in your heart and home, then there’s every chance that you can adopt. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of relationship status, sexuality, beliefs or ethnicity. If you have the flexibility and resilience to give a child – or children – a happy home, we’d love to hear from you.

As a starting point for adoption, you must:
• Be able to provide a safe and stable home for a child
• Be at least 21 years old – but there’s no upper age limit
• Be a resident of the UK
• Have no cautions or convictions against a child (the same applies to any other members of your household)
• Have finished fertility treatment more than 6 months ago
• Have a strong, stable and enduring relationship if you are with a partner
