Global Intergenerational Week

We’re excited to be taking part in Global Intergenerational Week for the first time!  Intergenerational is about bringing people of all ages together to share stories, learn new things and have a great time.

This special week is a fantastic opportunity to reflect on all the wonderful intergenerational initiatives in Wrexham, such as the establishment of an intergenerational toddler group, primary schools visiting residential homes, and students becoming Digital Heroes.

This week is filled with daily activities that help people from different generations connect with each other.  Whether you’re young or older, or somewhere in between, there is something for everyone to enjoy and learn from others.

Check out what’s happening each day on our social media pages:

Remember, every little bit helps in bringing our community closer, making this week a success.  Let’s enjoy learning from each other.

Cllr John Pritchard, Lead Member for Adult Social Care said: “Intergenerational work is so important. Seeing people of all ages coming together to share experiences, knowledge and have fun is great to see. I would encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to take part and think of ways they can interact with different generations and ages.”

Cllr Rob Walsh, Lead Member for Children’s Services said: “Connecting young and older people not only improves social interaction but also benefits general health and wellbeing. Intergenerational interaction is already quite common across the county borough with plenty of examples available to show. Long may this continue to grow.”
