We’re excited to be taking part in Global Intergenerational Week for the second year!
Intergenerational Week is about bringing people of all ages together to share stories, learn new things and have a great time. But of course the work does not stop once the week has ended.
This special week is a fantastic opportunity to reflect on all the wonderful intergenerational initiatives in Wrexham, such as the establishment of an intergenerational toddler group, primary schools visiting residential homes, and students in Victoria CP School taking part in a falls prevention event.
This week is filled with daily activities that help people from different generations connect with each other. Whether you’re young or older, or somewhere in between, there is something for everyone to enjoy and learn from others.

Cllr John Pritchard, Lead Member for Adult Social Care said: “I am proud to support intergenerational week. Intergenerational work celebrates the connections and shared wisdom between generations. This week reminds us of the importance of these relationships and how we can learn from one another.”
Cllr Rob Walsh, Lead Member for Children’s Services said: “Intergeneration week is a great way of acknowledging the mutually beneficial connections that exist between younger and older generations. The greatest gift we can receive from those younger than us and older than us is knowledge, understanding and mutual respect. Our lives are enriched through older people who have experiences that we have not or not yet encountered. Also, we are enriched by those younger than us as we can learn from them too. We may have been young ourselves but experiences do evolve over time so we can always learn something new from those younger than us. I fully support the purpose and goals of intergeneration week and wish it every success.”
