Each week, our Registrars welcome couples through the doors of their ceremony room to officiate the happiest day of their lives.
Over the years, the room has seen many people start their new chapter of married life together.
Situated within the Guildhall in the city centre, our registration team go above and beyond to ensure couples receive the most special day full of memories to last a lifetime.
The ceremony room recently received a refurbishment to maintain the high standards set by our team. Now, the doors are proudly reopened to welcome happy couples looking to tie the knot.
The occasion was marked by an official opening on 4 September. Joining the staff on the day was the Mayor of Wrexham, Cllr Jeremy Kent, Alwyn Jones, Chief Executive and Linda Roberts, Chief Officer for Governance and Customer Services and Proper Officer for Registration.
Speaking on the reopening, the Mayor said, “It has been delightful to come and celebrate this occasion. This room is so important to so many people as it is the start of their married lives. This beautiful room is the setting for some of the most precious memories for not only the couples who are getting married, but their friends and family too.
“Our Registrars are such a bright and bubbly team who make sure everyone receives the wedding day they deserve and more, so this update is welcomed by the team.
“I want to thank them for their unwavering dedication to their roles and for the amazing high standards they always bring to each aspect of their roles”.
Cllr John Pritchard, Lead Member for Corporate and Customer Services said, “The registration team does tremendous work for the people in our community, supporting them through many of life’s most significant and emotional moments. One of the most joyful aspects of their role, of course, getting to marry happy couples.
“I know how much work goes into the registration service and the team are a credit to the council. My thanks sincere thanks go to our Registrars for the consistently excellent work you do.
“I’d like to congratulate the team on this marvellous refurbishment. The space looks stunning and I’m sure it will be the backdrop for many more stories and memories for our couples”.
